Welcome to the Office of Real Estate Appraisers of the State of California

Application Processing May Take Up to 90 Days

Due to an extremely heavy volume of applications, processing may take up to 90 days. License renewal applicants, please allow for this 90 day time frame to avoid a lapse in your license.

In most cases you will be notified in writing or by phone as to the status of your application within 90 days of receipt. However, if you have not heard from us and your application has been in the office at least 60 days you may click here to obtain information regarding your application status. A date will show under the appropriate category once action is taken. OREA cannot verify receipt of an application prior to it showing on the website.

Incomplete applications will delay processing. Here are some examples of common deficiencies:

  • Failure to include a Statement of Citizenship, Alienage and Immigrations Status for State Public Benefits (form REA 3030) AND acceptable proof of legal presence in the United States.
  • Failure to include an Upgrade Application (form REA 3023), and all required attachments and fees.
  • Failure to submit evidence of completing the 7-hour National USPAP Update Course with renewal application.
