SB223 makes it a violation of California State licensing laws to improperly influence a real estate appraiser in the conduct of an appraisal.
If you are a California licensed real estate appraiser and you believe someone has attempted to improperly influence your appraisal, use the California Real Estate & Financial Services Status Check to find out if that person or firm is licensed by a state licensing agency and file complaints as noted below.- Report California consumer and commercial finance lenders and brokers, and residential mortgage lenders (mortgage bankers) and servicers to the Department of Corporations.
- Report California licensed mortgage brokers and real estate licensees to the Department of Real Estate.
- Report representatives of state chartered banks and credit unions to the Department of Financial Institutions.
